Anchor Drilling Rig

Slope Height and Working Elevation If anchor holes must be drilled at heights of 10m or more above accessible ground level — on high slope faces, dam abutments, or high retaining walls — specify the AK series long boom anchor rig (AK150: 15m, AK180: 18m, AK220: 22m). If the work is at ground level or reachable without elevating the drill, specify the JCM standard series.
Drilling Depth and Hole Diameter For shallow soil nail holes to 30–50m in small diameters (80–150mm), the JCM175 or JCM180 are appropriate. For anchor cable holes to 100–150m depth in 110–250mm diameter, specify the JCM210 or JCM260. Rock vs Soil Ground Conditions In pure rock formations, DTH hammer is the primary drilling method — ensure the specified rig has a matched air compressor. In soil or mixed ground, specify a rig with auger and casing-follow capability. In hard pebble or cobble formations (which resist standard DTH and auger), specify the JCM260 — engineered for pebble formation drilling.
Site Access and Working Space For open terrain or well-accessible construction sites, standard JCM crawler rigs operate without restriction. For confined urban sites, basement areas, or narrow working corridors, specify the JMZ compact series. For sites requiring an electrically powered rig (no exhaust permitted, noise restricted), specify the JCM175 electric model.
Anchor Type and Load Requirement Soil nails and rock bolts typically require holes of 80–150mm — standard JCM range. Strand anchor cables require 120–200mm holes.
